Breck M's Cholesteatoma

An unexpected finding on what was supposed to be a simple tube removal. Behind the eardrum was a benign growth of squamous skin cells referred to as a cholesteatoma. Left alone, these can grow over long periods of time and damage the hearing bones and in extreme cases, even the inner ear. The only treatment is surgical removal, which in this case was easy because of its small size.
